What To Dress To A Daytime Wedding

Bridesmaids, guests, and mother of the bride are filled with excitement as they wait for the big occasion ahead. All sorts of dressing codes, flash through their minds and some panic because they don’t have a clue of what to wear. Lucky enough, brides do not have to worry too much because the bride chooses what colors she wants for them. The other of the bride on the other hand is more challenging than the bridesmaids since her attire must be approved by her daughter who doesn’t want to be outshined on her life-changing moment. Guests are the only wedding stakeholders with a lot of dressing freedom, but they must of course adhere to the dressing codes depending on the type of wedding: it could be a black tie wedding or a casual wedding. The time of the day that the ceremony takes place is very important. And this article focuses on the dressing etiquette for a day-time event. Traditionally, a daytime wedding is more casual while an evening wedding is considered formal.

  • Do not upstage the bride and the groom
No dress should outplay the bridal gown, so, even a mother needs to take her time and consult the bride before picking a high end mother of the bride dress. Trying to outshine the bride or groom is rude. If it is a church wedding, you should know the religious formality which is very different from a beach or garden wedding.

  • Semi-formal attire for women
A daytime wedding is the perfect occasion for the ladies to put on colorful gowns or dress suits. Dressy flats and pumps do well or sandals if the weather is hot. Avoid flip flops at all costs except for a casual beach wedding.

  • Suit for gentlemen
Men can have suits, bright ties, and may be colorful shirts with matching jackets. For less dressy wedding, it is okay to put on pants and sport coats. Shoes must be well polished and shiny.

  • No white attires
It is only a bride who puts on a white gown for this day. A white dramatic wedding gown shouldn’t compete with any other attire, and that is the number one old school rule ladies musts understand. Nobody takes the attention for the bride since we don’t want confusion as to who is getting married.

  • Bridesmaids should complete the look
As far as accessories are concerned, bridesmaids should avoid excessive and sparkly jewelry. High end bridesmaid dresses should be complemented with understated accessories to avoid flashy disco-ball looks.

If you intend to buy Mon Cheri Mother of Bride Dresses then consider the above points so that you don’t seem under or over-dressed for a daytime wedding.
